Forms of the Book, Metamorphosis, and Beyond
Ada’s is proud to bring you a night of talks and readings from author and fellow Capitol Hill business owner Doug Nufer, author and publisher Amaranth Borsuk, and author and artist Shin Yu Pai, who will each be addressing new works and past projects over drinks and conversation in The Lab.
Amaranth Borsuk presents her history of book publishing, The Book (MIT), Shin Yu Pai will show images and talk about her practice, and Doug Nufer presents his manipulations of Kafka, Metamorphosis (Sagging Meniscus).
Amaranth Borsuk is a scholar, poet, and book artist. She is the author of Between Page and Screen, a digital pop-up book of poetry, and recipient of an NEA grant for the collaboration Abra. She is the author of five books of poetry. She is Assistant Professor in the School of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences at UW Bothell.
Shin Yu Pai is a poet, cross-media artist, and curator for the collaborative global exploration project Atlas Obscura. Her poetic origins inform an artistic style that has grown beyond the written word, manifesting in book arts, photography, installation, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and sound.
Doug Nufer is the author of seven novels, including Never Again, Negativeland, and By Kelman Out of Pessoa, and four books of poetry, including We Were Werewolves, Lounge Acts, and The Me Theme. He runs the wine shop a block north of Ada's.
