Speaking STEM

Date:
Friday, April 28, 2017 - 7:00pm to 9:00pm

From climate change, to EPA regulations, to internet privacy, and more, the 21st century's policy discussions would greatly benefit from the voices of STEM workers. But often, cultural misunderstandings and miscommunications can make these conversations impossible to have.

Come learn how to advocate for science and the role of evidence more effectively from Joy Delyria, Interpretive Programs Supervisor at the Pacific Science Center, and Ariana Coveney, a linguistics and cultural communications instructor with a background in psychology.

Discover what techniques work, and why, and get a chance to practice them.

Hosted by 314 Action Seattle.
